It looks like Lenovo is preparing a 2nd generation ThinkPad Tablet, but this one will run Windows 8. I currently have the first generation ThinkPad Tablet running the Google Android OS. I upgraded to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and I really like the fact that the tablet includes a built-in pen.
So, the new ThinkPad Tablet 2 will run on a dual-core Clover Trail processor which will boost battery life to 9 to 10 hours. It will have a 10.2" widescreen, so you can stay highly productive using this device. My key question is: how much will it cost?
We're sure to see a number of new slate tablets emerging this fall as Microsoft prepares to launch Windows 8. These are enterprise-level tablets that can run full Windows applications, so it will be a literal extension of your desktop. I'm really hoping that manufacturers will price these new tablets to be really competitive. We're also going to see some new devices running Windows RT, a brand new mobile OS that Microsoft is launching this fall for ARM-based computers.
